The Early Years Foundation stage at ECAN spans our Hedgehogs Nursery and our Reception Class (Elmer Class).  

At ECAN our Early Years curriculum has been carefully crafted to build foundations that will enable meaningful learning now and right through the school.  Our Reception children are gradually introduced to our school ‘Happy Children ACHIEVE’ values which link their learning within each half term. These themes help children to build their identity as an ECAN pupil.

The 2021 Development Matters informs our curriculum as do the early experiences we have planned to build our children’s skills and early disciplinary knowledge in readiness for beginning the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
